Alicante |
|
The city of Alicante can boast of a wide range of
beautiful beaches, all having as their common denominator,
fine, golden sands and high standards of cleanliness
and service. It is hardly surprising that, year after
year, they are awarded the Blue Flag of the European
Union, the maximum guarantee of their consistent quality.
And as an integral part of this heavenly climate,
it is precisely the colour blue, merging as it does
a luminous sky with a transparent sea, that makes
a relaxing swim or the practice of a wide range of
nautical sports so attractive, whether near the city
itself, along the coast, in residential complexes
or on an island shore.
Those who prefer rockier coastlines, with tranquil,
gravely coves (some of which are nudist bathing areas),
will also find something to their taste
Alicante,
blessed as it is with a wide variety of beaches, has
been a favourite destination for visitors for over
a century and a half.

Leisure
The terraces along the park besides the beack are the
perfect place to meet for a drink or a chat or simply
to take a break from sightseeing. Here you will find
restaurants, cafés, bars, taverns, pizzerias,
burger bars, chocolaterias and ice-cream parlours.
Behind the Explanada and spilling over into the southern
part of Alicante are some nightlife areas , where cafés,
pubs, beer-gardens, night-clubs and night-spots for
young people all combine to create a lively atmosphere.
Besides the largest and most popular area of diversion
- and one that could be said to be suitable for all
ages, beliefs, and convictions - is 'el barrio' and
the port and the marina area.
at night it has a lively atmosphere, due to the dozens
of bars, pubs and taverns that cater for all tastes
and that frequently offer live music or art exhibitions.
